  • No outside contractors or paid workers are permitted to work on your boat unless prior approval is given by Gratitude Marina and workman's compensation and liability insurance certificates for the workers are on file at Gratitude Marina. For specific rules pertaining to outside contractors, contact the marina office.
  • Boats and gear are stored at owner's risk. Gratitude Marina is not responsible for loss or damage by fire, theft, vandalism, storm or other natural causes.
  • All persons entering the yard storage areas agree to abide by all the rules of the yard as stated below.
  • Vessels not ready for launch in the spring will be moved at the owner's expense, unless prior arrangements have been made with the service manage

Rules of the Yard

  • Gasoline engine minor tune-up consists of changing spark plugs, points and rotor, setting timing setting, carburetor idle to factory specs; clean flame arrester.
  • Dockside mast tuning includes tightening of shroud (ensuring mast is plumb and straight), cotter pins installed and bent; all turnbuckles taped; wedges, mastboot and hydraulics installed and electrics hooked up.
  • Masts not being tuned will have turnbuckles hand-tightened and cotter pins installed. No taping, wedging or electric hookup will be performed. Mast boot (if on board) will be installed but not clamped. The owner is responsible for fine tuning under sail.
  • In order for work to be started we must have either a signed, completed Spring Checklist or an Online Work Order submission. It is important to fill in the requested launch week and sailaway date. The Spring Checklists or Online Work Orders will generally be assigned on a first-come, first-served basis. This is a very busy time and the launch crew can only launch a limited number of boats per week.
  • Current hourly labor rates will apply except where noted. Time is based on actual time craftsman is dispatched from the office until he reports that the work is completed.
  • Keys or combinations must be available in the office or the lock will be cut and a new lock installed at the owner's expense. Combination locks are strongly recommended to save time and costs.
  • Fenders and dock lines must be left out on the boat or a delay in launch may result. Owner will be billed for dock lines.
  • All batteries must be on board prior to launch date. If batteries are not on board, additional charges will result.
  • No boat will be launched until the area surrounding the boat is clean and clear of debris.
  • The owner shall be responsible for the vessel's safety and have insurance coverage for the vessel after its post launch check.
  • The owner acknowledges that the yard makes no representation regarding the adequacy of water levels for egress or ingress.
  • NO OUTSIDE LABOR or independent contractor is allowed unless prior permission is obtained from the yard office. The yard reserves the right to require proof of adequate liability insurance, to require a fee to be paid to the yard for their activities, and to hold the owner responsible for the activities of the contractor and other signing in and out requirements.
  • Due to EPA guidelines, removal of bottom and topside paints must be done using dustless sanders and drop cloths. These sanders and related materials are available for rental.
  • Sandblasting or use of compressed air painters are prohibited in the yard by anyone except authorized professionals.
  • Owners are responsible for damage to other vessels in the yard as a result of owner repair and maintenance activity, i.e., paint, dust, solvent.
  • The yard provides minimum-security protection and assumes no responsibility for person or property.
  • Overboard discharge of heads or holding tanks within the marina is strictly prohibited
